Learn to Listen beneath the Level of Your Thoughts

Raising your awareness about just how you hold yourself is a step toward releasing chronic and unconscious physical tension. Change does not happen overnight, but it does happen. Your stress reduction practice will only be as effective as the time and energy you put into it.  So it's important to clear at least 5 minutes from your schedule twice today to take time and listen to yourself. Listening to yourself is bigger than just listening to the superfluous mental activity that dominates your inner airwaves every day. It means learning to sit with yourself and drop beneath your mind and your emotions to a place of quietude. It's in this space that you're able to start to release the habitual tensions that you felt up over the years.
