Exercise & Activity
The recommended exercise regimen includes both cardiovascular and resistance training. The American Heart Association recommends, if possible, that you gradually step up to exercising on most days of the week for 30–60 minutes. For anybody who has been diagnosed with metabolic syndrome, it is recommended that you get clearance from your doctor before proceeding with an exercise program.
High blood pressure and cardiovascular disease need to be monitored closely. You do not want to push yourself past what is safe for you. Your doctor may refer you to a physical therapist who can design a program for you that will safely move you toward your goals.
