Talk to Your Doctor Before Starting an Exercise Program
Talk to your doctor. People with chronic fatigue should always check with their doctor or physical therapist before they start an exercise program. It’s also important to begin exercise slowly, and to gradually increase the duration and intensity of workouts for the maximum benefit.
Don’t push yourself too hard or too fast. The key is to not go too fast. Those with chronic fatigue may have a tougher time getting started. It’s really critical to find exercises that you can keep doing so that you won’t succumb to your fatigue.
Increase exercise gradually. It’s a slow process to get into a workout. And the goal is to increase how much you do based upon intensity and frequency. You want to increase intensity and frequency by about 10 percent every week.
